Stealth classes, the most independent, you can pick your fights and if you're about to lose, run away and hide in stealth again. You choose who you want to attack and who you want to avoid. Great against most classes if you get the jump on them, otherwise, not so great. Not so great at all against plate wearers.
Ranged casters, shoot from the back lines as long as no one engages you. It's great as long as they're hitting other ppl and you get to cast non-stop. Once someone gets on you, it's a lot more annoying to get them off, especially at lower levels. Good news is for Priests/Shamans/Druids you can always toss a few heals on yourself to keep yourself alive.
Hunter - Ranged "physical" class, you won't have to really worry about "casting" and you have a pet to help you keep melee ppl off of you with slows/stuns/roots. Your Steady Shot still has a cast bar but you can always just let Focus regen naturally while you running around shooting instant shots. Plenty of ways to get ppl off of you when you level up more.
Melee classes, you lose the stealth and the ability to pick your fights but you get more survivability. Not so great by themselves but if you have healers with you, they are powerhouses. Other than an Elemental Shaman you'll be wearing Mail/Plate so you'll have high armor.
Tanks, you won't do a lot of damage but you'll be able to take a lot of it. Recently these have been very popular specs to play as in Battlegrounds especially while leveling. You'll be able to get instant queues for LFD dungeons to get gear which in return helps you even more in Battlegrounds. Starting a Warrior in WoW, or just looking for more info on the class? Currently I have a Prot Warrior that I am playing around with where I only do LFD dungeons and Battlegrounds and no questing in the world. Combining quest/boss drops with BoA heirlooms I am constantly getting gear upgrades. While you may or may not have BoA heirloom items you will still have great gear. I can kill just about any class in lower level battlegrounds, not quickly but simply wearing them out by trading hits. It's definitely a lot of fun right now.
